– Obtained dismissal of multi-million dollar breach of contract complaint brought by Morton’s of Chicago against restaurant builder in federal court in California and achieved highly favorable settlement for client (which had been Morton’s primary general contractor).

– Obtained high six-figure compensatory damages award (plus over quarter-million dollars in punitive damages) against former officer/director of restaurant builder for breach of fiduciary duty after 8-day jury trial in Fairfax County, Virginia.

– Secured six-figure settlement for restaurant supplier in lawsuit in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware in which client sought imposition of constructive trust or lien against equipment that client had sold to brewery/restaurant chain which went bankrupt.

– Successfully represented prominent charity in six-figure breach of contract dispute between IT contractor and charity, persuading IT contractor to abandon claim and forgo litigation.

– Obtained dismissal with prejudice of finance company’s lawsuit against former employee for breach of non-compete agreement and misuse of trade secrets after analysis of plaintiff’s business practices demonstrated that plaintiff was engaged in illegal activities.

– Successfully represented condominium developer in dispute with general contractor by persuading contractor to abandon claim.

– Obtained and collected on six-figure judgment in Arlington County, Virginia in favor of small construction subcontractor that had been retained by large general contractor which refused to pay for services rendered.

– Obtained judgment for $808,000 in compensatory damages and $100,000 in punitive damages for conservator of incapacitated adult in lawsuit against former attorney-in-fact for ward after 5-day trial in Fairfax, Virginia.

– Obtained dismissal of lawsuit in Alexandria, Virginia brought against attorney serving as trustee of $20 million trust by beneficiaries of trust who alleged misconduct by trustee, with beneficiaries voluntarily dismissing lawsuit.

Personal Injury Law

– Obtained and collected damages award of $125,000 for victims of malicious prosecution instigated by national real estate management firm after 4-day jury trial in Fairfax, Virginia.

– Obtained settlement of $256,000 for victim of motor vehicle accident during second day of jury trial in Fairfax, Virginia.

– Obtained and collected damages award of $50,000 in compensatory damages and $150,000 in punitive damages for victim of assault and battery by former friend in bench trial of lawsuit in Arlington, Virginia.

– Obtained dismissal with prejudice of lawsuit in Annapolis, Maryland brought by bar patron who was shot on-premises by intoxicated patron.

– Successfully defended upscale resort owned by publicly-traded company in lawsuit in Loudoun County, Virginia brought by golf club members who alleged they were attacked by resort guests, with members voluntarily dismissing case on second day of jury trial.

White Collar Criminal Litigation

– Obtained dismissal at preliminary hearing of embezzlement charges against furniture store manager in Fairfax, Virginia, with Commonwealth electing to forgo further prosecution.

– Obtained favorable plea agreement in Fairfax, Virginia for bus system employee accused of embezzling over $300,000, resulting in actual incarceration of only 4 months.
